About Mang Family Mini Market

A Family-Owned Asian Grocery Store Serving Kenmore and Beyond

At Mang Family Mini Market, we believe food connects people — to their family, their heritage, and their culture. That’s why we started our small, family-run Asian grocery store in the heart of Kenmore, New York. Since opening our doors in 2024, we’ve been dedicated to offering high-quality, authentic Asian groceries, meats, spices, and home essentials to the diverse communities of Buffalo, Tonawanda, Amherst, and beyond.

Our mission is simple: to make it easy for customers to find the flavors of home. Whether you’re Burmese, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Thai, or just someone who loves cooking Asian cuisine, you’ll feel right at home in our store.

How It All Started

The idea for Mang Family Mini Market came from a personal need. Like many immigrant families, we struggled to find familiar ingredients and authentic products in local stores. Traveling long distances or relying on online shipping wasn’t always practical. We wanted a place where our community could easily access the Asian groceries they grew up with — from everyday items to special ingredients used in holidays, ceremonies, and family traditions.

So in 2024, we turned that idea into reality by opening a market that blends authenticity, affordability, and personal service — all within our neighborhood in Kenmore.

Today, Mang Family Mini Market is more than just a store — it’s a local gathering place where cultures meet, recipes are shared, and our neighbors can enjoy the best of Asian cooking.

Our Cultural Roots & Values

As a family with Burmese heritage, our cultural values guide how we run the business:

Respect: We treat every customer like family, whether you’re shopping for one item or filling a whole cart.

Service: We believe in personalized, one-on-one service. Need help finding an ingredient? Want to try a new recipe? Just ask.

Tradition: We carry products that matter — ingredients and items tied to tradition, holidays, and generational cooking.

Community: We proudly serve the wider Asian-American community in the Buffalo region and welcome everyone interested in exploring Asian food and culture.

Our customers come from many backgrounds, and we love seeing locals embrace new flavors — from ဖျော်ရည်သီးခြောက် (dried tamarind snacks) to ငါးပိ (fermented fish paste) and classic instant noodles from across Asia.

Built for the Community, by the Community

We know that food plays a vital role in bringing people together. That’s why we’ve created a space that feels like home, no matter where you’re from. Our store is small but full of heart, with familiar sounds, smells, and sights that spark memories of home-cooked meals and family gatherings.

We also believe in giving back. As we grow, we plan to support more local events, cultural celebrations, and collaborations with neighboring small businesses and organizations that celebrate Asian-American heritage in Western New York.
